VoiceMessage strives to eliminate miscommunication that occurs over text and bridge the gap between technology and real life.

I can think of countless examples of my friends thinking I was mad at them because they misinterpreted my text. When I text quickly I rarely use punctuation which can alter the way others read and perceive my message. Other times, I’ve legitimately been mad at a friend and tried to convey that with sarcasm and passive aggression which play through my head as I recite then type my message, however, my goal wasn’t achieved because my friends couldn't read the emotion of my text. Concise communication is a necessary skill that is pertinent in every aspect of one's life.

With the app VoiceMessage, these trivial miscommunications that derive from the ambiguity of texts will be disbanded.

The app will be the only communication platform that solely allows voice recordings to be sent as messages and has no texting features. However, it will allow emojis, pictures, and videos. This way, all forms of effectively communicating one’s true intentions and emotions will be adequately demonstrated.

• You will be able to star (favorite) voice messages which will then appear in the information option for that chat so that specific recordings can be easily accessed

By transforming texting to voice notes, people’s true feelings and intentions with what they are saying will be delivered to the second party. It will also mitigate confusion that occurs when there is a group chat that has a surge of incoming texts. Instead of having to read through all of the messages to catch up, you will be able to play and listen to them.

Additionally, because people will be messaging through voice notes they will constantly be practicing their verbal and auditory skills. While using the app, they will be enhancing their level of confidence when speaking and strengthen their ability to use the right tonation when necessary to directly and clearly impart their intended message. This way, when confronted with one-on-one situations in person, VoiceMessage users will already have the equipped skills set to maintain a conversation and be able to successfully deliver their thoughts.
